A former Northwestern standout, Chien enjoyed a decorated collegiate career from 2008–2012, competing in three NCAA Championships and helping the Wildcats reach the NCAA Finals in 2009 and 2011. He posted a 74.42 career stroke average over 84 rounds and capped his senior season with a runner-up finish at the 2012 Big Ten Championships, earning All-Tournament honors.
After graduation, Chien turned professional, claiming victory at the 2014 Buick Open on the PGA China Tour and securing a runner-up finish at the 2016 Resorts World Manila Masters, launching a five-year run on the Asian Tour. He earned Korn Ferry Tour status in 2015, competed in 14 events, and later brought his expertise to the DP World Tour and PGA Tour as a caddie in 2022 and 2023. Today, as an instructor and coach — and former assistant coach for the Northwestern Men’s Golf Team — Chien draws on over a decade of playing and coaching experience to guide the next generation of golfers.
