David Inglis is the head coach of Northwestern University’s men’s golf program and one of the nation’s most respected collegiate coaches. In 11 seasons, he has led the Wildcats to 10 NCAA Championship appearances, including an NCAA Championship Finals berth in 2018, while building Northwestern into a consistent national contender.
Under Inglis’ leadership, Northwestern has earned 12 team tournament victories, highlighted by the 2023–24 Big Ten Championship, and 13 individual titles, including three consecutive Big Ten individual championships—David Nyfjäll (2022) and Daniel Svärd (2023, 2024). Svärd became just the third two-time Big Ten individual champion in program history, joining Luke Donald and Sid Richardson. Inglis was named Big Ten Coach of the Year in 2023–24.
During his tenure, Inglis has coached 22 All-Big Ten selections and five Big Ten All-Championship Team honorees. He also brings extensive international experience, having served as head coach of Team Europe at the 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup, as well as a European Assistant Coach. He has been recognized nationally as a finalist for the GCAA Jan Strickland Award.
A native of Edinburgh, Scotland, Inglis enjoyed a standout playing career at the University of Tulsa, where he was a three-time All-American, four-time Western Athletic Conference champion, and two-time Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar Athlete. Internationally, he represented Great Britain & Ireland on the victorious 2003 Walker Cup team and competed in two European Palmer Cups. He won the British Boys Amateur Championship, Europe’s premier junior event, before turning professional in 2004 and competing on the European Tour, Challenge Tour, and mini tours.
